Here I answer frequently asked questions about me, my approach and how I can support you:
↪ 1. Who is your approach aimed at?
It is aimed at all those who:
- are curious about "more"
- are not afraid of change
- see stumbling blocks as an invitation to take a closer look
- have the desire to recognize and exploit their full potential
- find personal growth exciting
- have the courage to break new ground
- enjoy being involved, knowing that growth is a process that takes time (a well-trained muscle does not get in perfect shape overnight, but requires regular training)
- like being surprised by life
- believe that our body-mind-spirit is a unity that must be kept in balance to support health at all levels.
↪ 2. How did you come up with your approach?
My approach of “talks with the subconscious" has evolved over a long period of time:
- From my own conviction that the balance of body-mind-spirit is very important to a healthy person’s equilibrium. A prolonged imbalance of this "triple-unity" usually leads to physical, mental and emotional ailments.
- Over the past 30+ years I have come across and learnt many tools such as various meditation techniques, Chinese Quantum Method, vortexhealing, autogenic training, Reiki, family constellations, therapies through dialogue - again and again I have found for myself that so much of "us" is caught up and entangled deep within us which ultimately obstructs our energy flow and keeps us from living an authentic and happy life.
- In addition, I have always been curious about what moves us humans to behave in certain ways. Without me really being aware of it, my subconscious must have been an important companion from the very beginning - one that I value very much. Just HOW important the undisturbed contact to one's subconscious is, is another insight I would like to pass on.
- And since I gained interesting new insights by means of contact to my subconscious - helping me to live a more conscious life - I have decided to familiarize other people with this wonderful approach and to support them in discovering and dissolving their own unconscious blockages and thus invite more peace, happiness and serenity into their lives.
↪ 3. Why do you like to work with the subconscious?
Our subconscious, the seat of our being, can be thought of as a kind of "collection box" of all our thoughts, experiences, beliefs, rules, behavioural patterns etc. that we have stored there at some point since birth (or even conception) - the main drivers of our actions come from the subconscious. Connecting with the immense knowledge of this source it is always an exciting journey with many unexpected solutions, tips and insights.
The mind thinks, the subconscious knows the answer!
↪ 4. What are energetic blockages and how do they arise?
We all come into this world as a sort of a "blank slate" (aside from genetic predispositions). Open to and curious about everything, we turn to the world, resonating with everything and everyone. Over time our slate will be filled more and more with experiences, patterns of behaviour, joys, fears and much more. There will be moments when we do, decide or experience something AGAINST our will leading to a disturbed energy flow within us since our body reacts by storing all suppressed feelings and emotions on a deep cell level.
For a fulfilled life it is important to act from one's own center with inner conviction and authenticity, paying attention to an optimal energy flow, perceiving disturbances and eliminating their weakening influence. This happens, among other things, through "talks with our subconscious mind", the latter making up the major part of us (as opposed to our constantly chattering "thinking mind").
↪ 5. What does a session look like?
Usually you come to me with a physical, mental or emotional issue. Using a scale of 0-10 you create a reference for yourself to make changes measurable for you. In addition a target sentence is often very helpful to give a solution-oriented focus. Following an initial short relaxation exercise your "thinking mind" quiets down in all its activity - it is at that very point where a contact to your subconscious becomes possible. In a relaxed (=alpha) state you can simply listen and feel more intensely to what surfaces from your inner self (intuition, inner voice) that wants be seen, heard, felt, perceived. Neutral, unbiased listening as well as sporadic inquiries on my part usually result in insightful conversations in which you will be very deeply connected with yourself. I do not make any assumptions, but only act on the information you give me. Your subconscious will always give you the information that is important to you at that moment. It will most likely amaze you what all comes out from deep within you.
Since most issues are usually multi-layered, we will always be able to solve only what is at that very moment. A common thread will then guide us in subsequent sessions.
↪ 6. What are the solution-focused tools?
**These tools will help us getting more in touch with ourselves, our perceptions and our emotions:
- Breathing exercises/meditation
- Gratitude exercises
- Being more mindful of ourselves
- Learning to perceive our own energy level
- Visualizations
- Writing a diary
↪ 7. How long does a coaching session usually last?
One session (= 1 hour) can be sufficient for a first "emergency intervention", usually providing at least some initial relief, but as most issues are multi-layered in nature it makes sense to keep at it (like peeling the layers off an onion). It is not very likely that something that really bothers you will be completely solved within one session. To see longer-term changes I usually suggest a block of 5-10 sessions after which there will no doubt be significant improvements.
↪ 8. Is coaching with you also possible online
YES! No ifs and buts!
The subconscious mind does not care if we meet in a physical way or hook up via our computers. When we connect with each other (which happens automatically during a coaching session), our energy fields connect and those do not know boundaries.
↪ 9. How can connecting with my own subconscious change and improve my life?
By connecting with your subconscious mind, your connection and understanding of yourself will automatically become clearer and stronger. You will feel, sense and understand yourself better. You may become aware of things that block you or see patterns that keep you going in circles. It is only by becoming aware of the unconscious that we are able to actively address and dissolve energetic blockages.
↪ 10. I often feel that I am getting in my own way. What - in your opinion - are the most common causes for this feeling?
My opinion is actually completely irrelevant since it refers only to my own limited wealth of experiences. Thus I would neutrally and without making any assumptions ask your subconscious about this feeling and be curious and open to hear any clues that arise helping you to uncover the blockage , so a new dynamic in your desired direction can develop.
↪ 11. I wish I had closer relationships with my family and friends. What possibilities are there to work on this aspect of my life?
This is where the important topic of resonating to or engaging with comes to light. It is important to understand what is holding you back. I could make my own assumptions, wait for your reaction and interpret it, but that would not be of help to you, as it would be my assumptions from of my own limited field... as opposed to the wide, unlimited field of the subconscious with access to so much beyond our own thinking.
Thus also here: “Let's hear what your subconscious mind has to say!”
↪ 12. I am dissatisfied with my job and have felt unfulfilled for a long time. How can you help me?
As always, the path would take us to your subconscious aiming to understand what part of you or what in you is dissatisfied and why. We could also work on a "purpose of life" through which you can bring everything you do ointo alignment with your own values, thus creating a strong authentic bond to yourself. But possibly the subconscious will show us a completely different road and direction …?
↪ 13. Should I bring any kind of experience or are there other prerequisites to work with you?
The only prerequisites are openness and curiosity about what will reveal itself to you - the motto should be: “Don't reject or judge, but allow, feel and look at everything”. No two sessions are alike and it is important to be as open as possible during the process naming everything that is brought up by your subconscious - every word, feeling, memory, association can be a key that unlocks the next door.
↪ 14. What is the difference between your coaching approach and a "classical" psychotherapy?
As I am not a psychotherapist, I can not compare, but what I do know is that a conversation with the subconscious usually provides additional clarity and insights. Thus one does not exclude the other at all, but is very likely to add additional value.
↪ 15. What practices have shaped you most as a coach?
Most of the practices I have learned have become part of me and my way of living. They have in turn led to stronger mindfulness, intuition, awareness as well as inner connection. But especially meditation and yoga have been very faithful companions for over 20 years.
↪ 16. I have tried a wide variety of practices over the years, but I continue to work on issuas such as marriage/contentment/ finding the right job. What do you think is holding me back?
It is most important to not make ANY assumptions, i.e. to approach an issue completely open and neutral - only then can I really engage with you and hear what comes to light from your subconscious. There will be no one answer in a single session, but as we define intention and focus, layer upon layer will be cleared leading to improved dynamics and flow of energy, more balance as well as equilibrium in your life.
↪ 17. Have there been issues/clients that you have not been able to help?
Certainly there are issues, such as serious illnesses or crises, which I can only "accompany", but in any case the conversations with the subconscious will always strengthen and support our self-healing powers.
Most issues are complex and take their own time - they didn't come overnight either. The important thing is to keep at it. Since we usually work with a scale of 1-10 to assess the discomfort, the change is measurable for the coachee after each session.
↪ 18. What insights have shaped you most in implementing your approach?
